- ➤ Country music stars Jason Aldean and Lainey Wilson will headline the 2026 XRoads41 festival from Aug. 6 to Aug. 8 at Oshkosh Festivals Park, announced during a 2025 concert at the park. The event promises major music action for local fans. Oshkosh Northwestern
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Winnebago Audubon will host a talk on Motus Wildlife Tracking Stations to show how radio telemetry helps track migratory birds and small animals. Jacob Woulf will lead the session at the J.P. Coughlin Center on Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. Oshkosh Northwestern
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Social Security and SSI recipients in Wisconsin will get a 2.8% cost-of-living boost in January (Social Security checks on Jan. 14, 21, or 28 based on birthdays and SSI on Jan. 30 due to New Year's adjustments) as they prepare for rising costs. Oshkosh Northwestern
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The CDC has changed its vaccine schedule for children, no longer universally recommending shots for flu, COVID-19, meningococcal disease, RSV, hepatitis A & B, and rotavirus.
