- ➤ The Oshkosh Northwestern is inviting locals to share their wishes for 2026 (including ideas for new restaurants, businesses such as a possible KFC, or tax changes) and will follow up at year-end to see if any ideas have been realized. Oshkosh Northwestern
- ➤ Damascus Road will host its annual 'Stop the Traffick: Make Some Noise' rally in Oshkosh from 1 to 3 p.m. on Jan. 11 with a second rally in Waupaca from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and free community training will follow Jan. 27 at its Oshkosh office (1528 Oregon St.). Oshkosh Northwestern
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Oshkosh Area School District revised its plan to address a $5.5 million deficit by keeping its driver’s education program and a mental strength teaching role while cutting its director of technology position + an elementary principal; the board will vote on the final plan Jan. 14. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ State health officials reported that over 900 residents were hospitalized with the flu the week ending Jan. 3, surpassing last winter's peak + doctors urge vaccination as overall flu activity remains high but is now declining statewide. Oshkosh Northwestern
- ➤ Froedtert ThedaCare will open its new hospital along the Fox River in downtown on Jan. 19 — the $84 million, 114,000 sqft facility will add about 60 jobs and serve residents east of Interstate 41. WTAQ
