- ➤ Community groups are hosting several MLK Day events across Northeast Wisconsin. In Oshkosh, the Area School District will hold its second annual celebration Monday, Jan. 19 at Vel Phillips Middle School, while Green Bay offers family-friendly activities + service projects. WBAY
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Snowy roads led to multiple accidents Friday as law enforcement advised drivers on Northeast Wisconsin routes (especially on I-41 near slippery bridges) to drive cautiously with a cold snap and fresh snow forecast. FOX 11
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Jan. 16, the Oshkosh school board cut over 40 positions at the district to balance a $5.5 million deficit for the 2026-27 school year (earlier plans had included up to 70 cuts). WHBY
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported that local flu activity remains high but is slightly lower than last week. Pediatricians warn that the new H3N2 strain can make children ill quickly and advise that a flu shot is still recommended ahead of a February peak. WBAY
