- ➤ On Jan. 29, the sun will set at 5 p.m. (its first 5 p.m. sunset this year) as residents enjoy 9 hours and 51 minutes of daylight, marking the arrival of longer days in Wisconsin. Oshkosh Northwestern
- ➤ A local coalition of experts recommends using only 12 ounces of salt to clear ice on driveways and sidewalks, warning that excess salt harms waterways & damages roads, vehicles, and bridges. Their advice aims to protect the environment and save repair costs this winter. WBAY
