- ➤ On Friday, Oshkosh Arena hosted a free We Empowher event for women and teen girls ages 13 to 18—featuring a teen summit and a game where the Wisconsin Herd played under its new name, Wisconsin Her, with players in pink jerseys that were later auctioned off. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ UW-Oshkosh will outsource its bookstore to Follett next month to address a $1.5 million deficit as shelves are cleared after final student purchases on Friday—current employees will continue with full pay and benefits until at least June 30. A brief mid-April closure is planned during the transition—some students worry the change may lead to rising prices and a loss of school identity. FOX 11

- ➤ The USDA ended two pandemic food programs—Local Food Purchase Assistance and Local Food for Schools—that helped Northeast Wisconsin farms get fresh produce to food pantries and schools. Farms like Ryan Sullivan’s lost about a quarter of their business while Lakeshore Community Pantry in Kewaunee will face an extra $1,000 monthly cost for food supplies. FOX 11
- ➤ State election officials remind Oshkosh voters that the spring election will be held on April 1 after misleading mailers from out-of-state groups falsely listed April 11 and used an incorrect candidate name. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Construction at the new ThedaCare health campus at 250 W. 6th Avenue along the Fox River has made major progress with roof work complete and masonry nearly finished since breaking ground in March 2024. The 114,000-square-foot hospital will create about 60 jobs and offer 24/7 emergency and inpatient care when it opens in late 2025—bringing needed services closer to residents. FOX 11
