ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A house at 1313 Liberty Street in Oshkosh was declared a complete loss after a fire quickly engulfed the building Monday afternoon as firefighters arrived at 2:20 p.m., one resident was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation while two others were treated on scene—initial reports of two cats and two dogs changed when both dogs escaped safely and the cats remain missing, and the American Red Cross is helping the affected family. - ➤ Fire crews responded Monday just after 2 p.m. after a house on the 1300 block of Liberty Street in Oshkosh was fully engulfed by flames (the six family members evacuated safely but two dogs and two cats died while the Red Cross assisted the family). WBAY

- ➤ A powerful snowstorm swept through northern Wisconsin on Sunday night with some areas recording over 7 inches of snow and wind gusts over 30 mph that left thousands without power. A tree fell on a house in Wabeno during the storm causing power lines to come down. We Are Green Bay

- ➤ Oshkosh-area and statewide election results for April 2025 will update live after polls close at 8 p.m. today for voters to view. Oshkosh Northwestern
- ➤ Several Northeast Wisconsin communities received $2 million in state grants to improve flood defenses and reduce property damage. The Pre-Disaster Flood Resilience Grant program—administered by Wisconsin Emergency Management—will cover 75% of project costs for work like studying flood risks in Oshkosh and restoring wetlands. - ➤ Officials with Wisconsin Public Service said crews worked non-stop to restore power after the weekend’s ice storm, restoring service for 62,000 customers while nearly 70,000 remained without power as of Monday 7:45 a.m. They estimated 80% of affected customers would have power restored by the end of Monday — crews faced delays from slick roads and gusty winds.
