A house at 1313 Liberty Street in Oshkosh was declared a complete loss after a fire quickly engulfed the building Monday afternoon as firefighters arrived at 2:20 p.m., one resident was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation while two others were treated on scene—initial reports of two cats and two dogs changed when both dogs escaped safely and the cats remain missing, and the American Red Cross is helping the affected family.

Fire crews responded Monday just after 2 p.m. after a house on the 1300 block of Liberty Street in Oshkosh was fully engulfed by flames (the six family members evacuated safely but two dogs and two cats died while the Red Cross assisted the family).
