COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Fox Cities CVB is hosting a month-long food drive to help local families by supporting the St. Joseph Food Program in Menasha. Community members can drop off non-perishable items at the Fox Cities CVB office, 213 S Nicolet Rd in Appleton on weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm — donors will also enjoy an NFL Draft-themed photo opportunity.  WTAQ
  • Fox Cities Convention (CVB) is hosting an NFL Draft themed food drive in Grand Chute to collect donations for the St. Joseph Food Program that serves about 3,000 families. Donors can also take a photo with a cardboard cutout of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell (displayed at Titletown) while competing by NFL team.  We Are Green Bay

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A family home in the 1300 block of Liberty Street in Oshkosh was declared a total loss after a fire spread quickly Monday afternoon at 2:20 p.m.—the house, occupied by six family members with five present at the time, saw one resident sent to a local hospital for smoke inhalation while two others were checked and although both dogs escaped, the cats were not found.  WTAQ

CRIME NEWS

  • Ronnie Johnson, 39, turned himself in Tuesday and appeared in court to face several counts including first-degree recklessly endangering safety and fleeing an officer in connection with a Feb. 27 high-speed chase on I-41 that began near Townline Road in Eldorado and ended south of Oshkosh — a $500,000 cash bond was set.  WTAQ
  • A 22-year-old Kaukauna man pleaded no contest to two felony charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and hit and run involving death in a fatal motorcycle crash on August 11th, and his sentencing is scheduled for June 16th (8:30 a.m.) with up to 50 years in prison and a $200,000 fine pending.  We Are Green Bay
