COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Oshkosh Public Library has seen positive results since last week's temporary rule that requires minors arriving after 6:30 p.m. alone to show a state-issued ID, student ID, driver’s license or library card after disturbances that included a fight planned on social media with police involvement. Director Darryl Eschete said the library hopes to lift the measure by the end of the school year and plans to create a social space for teenagers — ensuring the library remains welcoming for everyone.  WTAQ

  • Sybastian Crossman was convicted Tuesday on a no contest plea to a reduced charge for a fatal stabbing outside a pizza restaurant on High Avenue in Oshkosh—sentencing is set for June 23.  FOX 11
  • A 24-year-old Oshkosh man pleaded no contest for homicide by negligent handling of a dangerous weapon after fatally stabbing a 20-year-old known to him on the 500 block of High Avenue—he will return to court for sentencing on June 23.  We Are Green Bay
  • Sybastian Crossman was convicted Tuesday of homicide by negligent handling of a dangerous weapon for a fatal stabbing on Aug. 10 outside a pizza restaurant on High Avenue in Oshkosh—sentencing will be held on June 23.  WTAQ
  • Sybastian Crossman pleaded no contest Tuesday to a charge of Homicide by Negligent Handling of Dangerous Weapon after a fight last August led to a fatal stabbing that left a victim dead in hospital—his sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 23 at 1:45 p.m.  WBAY
  • Special Agent Michael Austin of the Wisconsin DOR solved an $800k property fraud case by coordinating with Tennessee bank employees and local law enforcement groups+ the suspect, a former law school student on parole, was arrested, will serve 15 months, and the rightful owner received their unclaimed inheritance.  We Are Green Bay

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Oshkosh middle school students on the award-winning Baksteen Valken robotics team will represent Wisconsin at the American Robotics Tournament from May 16th to 19th in New Jersey after earning top honors at state contests—before leaving, they will host a fundraising event Friday at Perry Tipler Middle School with doors opening at 6:15 p.m. and the program starting at 6:30 p.m. to help cover tournament costs.  FOX 11

  • Yesterday, the Department of Natural Resources reported that 943 lake sturgeon were speared across the Winnebago System during the 2025 season — the agency congratulated all participants and said it will post the full list on its website.  We Are Green Bay
