- ➤ Ron Lampe, a founder of the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh, died April 14 at 85. He served on the club board for 55 years — inspiring a legacy that gave generations a place to belong. Oshkosh Northwestern
- ➤ Oshkosh Public Library began a $350,000 restoration on its historic dome roof Monday. The project assesses and reuses many of the original tiles (last maintained in the 1950s) and will not disrupt summer reading as elevator work continues on schedule. WTAQ
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The EAA Aviation Museum is reviving its Wings on Strings event on May 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pioneer Airport, where attendees can build and fly kites, view demonstrations by the Wisconsin Kiters Club & enjoy a hot air balloon glow, conditions permitting. WBAY
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Ascension Wisconsin will open two community pharmacies in Oshkosh this summer at Mercy Hospital and the Koeller Street clinic to provide retail medications and pharmacist consultations. The move comes as local pharmacies close to ensure residents have better access to care. WBAY
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Oshkosh’s Plan Commission advanced a plan on Tuesday, May 5 to replace The Shops at Oshkosh outlet mall with a 270,000 sqft Woodman’s store, which will also include a grocery, gas station & car wash on a 39-acre plot. Final approval is expected from the Common Council. FOX 11
