- ➤ Families and community members can take home a keepsake brick from the former Merrill School as over 1,000 bricks were salvaged from the historic building — the bricks are free and given on a first-come, first-served basis. Distribution continues today at the OASD Maintenance Building at 1404 S. Main Street with drive-up pickup between 4 and 6 p.m. FOX 11

- ➤ A firefighter from the Townsend Fire Department was injured while battling a one-acre grass and woods fire near 18904 Highway 32 Monday in northern Oconto County—this comes after the DNR reported that fire danger remained high until significant rain arrives. WTAQ

- ➤ Fox Crossing police recovered the body of 19-year-old Diego Alejandro Ramirez Tuesday morning — he was last seen on April 27 near Elru Drive and Ninth Street at the Menasha and Fox Crossing border — and authorities reported no foul play as investigations continue. We Are Green Bay

- ➤ The Valley Vinyl Music Festival debuts at Leach Amphitheater in Oshkosh on Saturday, May 10 from noon to 11 p.m. where top hip-hop acts will perform, including headliner Ski Mask the Slump God. Founder Johnathan Jungwirth said the event will donate a portion of beverage sales to Habitat for Humanity of Oshkosh + a five-figure sum to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention + two local restaurants will serve food as tickets are $125 general admission. - ➤ In April, Gordon Hintz defeated Jon Doemel in the Winnebago County executive race while the Oshkosh Area School District passed a facilities referendum by a slim margin and later ended its contract with Dean of Students Christopher Willems after a January incident led to a student restraint—Oshkosh Public Library also set new evening rules for minors, and the city launched a digital parking system to allow online permit purchases and citation management. - ➤ Outagamie County redirected over $3.2M from UW-Fox Cities to update its aging administrative systems after planning to sell its share to Winnebago County by the end of June. - ➤ Eli Vang and Antonio Thompson, 11th graders at Oshkosh North High School, partnered with Bob Poeschl of NAMI Oshkosh to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
