ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Officials investigated a fire at Neenah Foundry Plant 2 on Thursday at 8:23 p.m.—the blaze was controlled in two hours by teams from several fire departments, including Oshkosh Fire Department, with no injuries reported and the cause still under investigation.  We Are Green Bay
  • No one was hurt when a fire broke out at Neenah Foundry’s Plant No. 2 around 8:30 p.m. Thursday—officials said the blaze started in a sand bin and its cause remains under investigation.  WHBY

  • EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh is seeking about 750 workers for roles such as retail, bartending, and camper registration as the organizers prepare for the upcoming air show.  WBAY

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On May 30th, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources issued an air quality advisory as wildfire smoke from Canada drifted over the state—causing PM2.5 levels that are unhealthy for sensitive groups. Health officials advised residents to stay indoors, use N95 masks, and limit outdoor activities while the smoke is expected to clear by the end of the weekend.  FOX 11

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • More than 600 Wisconsin National Guard soldiers are preparing for deployment after a sendoff ceremony held today at the Kolf Sports Center in Oshkosh — the soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry Regiment and Gulf Company of the 132nd Brigade Support Battalion will begin pre-mobilization training before heading to the U.S. Central Command to work with NATO partners for regional security.  FOX 11
