- ➤ Habitat for Humanity’s Rock the Block event helped Oshkosh homeowners get much-needed repairs as volunteers did work like weeding lawns, painting fences, and cleaning gutters. Volunteers earned 'sweat equity' and learned skills to become future homeowners—an effort that has revitalized local neighborhoods since 2019. WBAY
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An Emmeline Cook Elementary student was hit by a car on Hazel Street Monday morning when the child unexpectedly left the school grounds—emergency services responded quickly and the child was alert when taken to the hospital with a parent following the ambulance. WBAY
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On May 29, Oshkosh police arrested four adults after investigating a drug trafficking group operating in several cities — search warrants at homes in Oshkosh and Milwaukee led to the seizure of three handguns, meth, fentanyl, cocaine, MDMA, marijuana, and about $5,000 in cash. We Are Green Bay
- ➤ Dezman Ellis, who was convicted for the fatal shooting of Jovanni Frausto at Fox River Mall in January 2021, dropped his request to withdraw his plea as confirmed by his attorney on May 29 at 10:00 a.m.—no reason was given for his decision. FOX 11

- ➤ The Oshkosh Police Department issued a reminder Monday morning that residents may set off only legal fireworks—sparklers, stationary cones and fountains, toy snakes, smoke bombs, caps, noise makers, and confetti poppers—and that illegal fireworks include Roman candles, firecrackers, bottle rockets, mortars, or any that leave the ground without a proper permit. The police will inspect sellers and follow up on complaints, and those caught will have fireworks seized and may face fines based on past violations. We Are Green Bay
