- ➤ The City of Oshkosh announced today that this year’s 4th of July celebration will launch from Ames Point at Menominee Park—replacing Monkey Island as the designated launch site. Festival Foods Fireworks, a food truck rally, and concession stands will operate from 3 to 10 p.m. on July 4, with a makeup event set for July 5 if weather delays the festivities. We Are Green Bay

- ➤ Oshkosh Area School District announced that Tanesha Jones from Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy will lead Jefferson Elementary and Martin O’Donnell from Washington Middle School in Manitowoc will head South Park Middle School pending board approval on June 25—these recommendations follow the departures of principals Amy Ashton and Joseph Pitsch. - ➤ The Barlow Planetarium in Menasha is one step closer to reopening after Winnebago County approved funding for the UWO Fox Cities campus through the rest of the fiscal year. A public meeting to discuss plans for repurposing the campus is set for June 25, 5:30 p.m.—7 p.m. at United Way Fox Cities. WTAQ
- ➤ Oshkosh officials say residents pay extra property taxes because the Municipal Services Payment program—meant to reimburse the city for taxes on state-owned properties like the prison and UW Oshkosh—is underfunded. The Common Council passed a resolution asking the state legislature to fully fund the program to lower taxes by $72, though a related motion was voted down. WBAY
