Carl Schulze, who became quadriplegic 18 years ago after his Oktoberfest accident, is riding his wheelchair from Neenah to Madison to call for better pay and lower turnover for his home health aides.
He said his ride covers 10 or 11 miles each day and will take several weeks, aiming to reach Madison by early August — a move that highlights the low average hourly wage of $17.92 for aide work.
