- ➤ Day 3 of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh brought aviation fans to workshops on building custom planes while enduring nearly 100-degree heat—many used water stations and cooling centers to stay safe. - ➤ At EAA AirVenture, hundreds of fans waited over one hour on July 21 to tour Pratt & Whitney’s 747SP, a historic plane known as the (Queen of the Skies) that helped change air travel. Pratt & Whitney said the plane is one of only two still able to fly and features a fifth engine used for testing in real conditions. Oshkosh Northwestern

- ➤ Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on I-41 near WIS 26 on July 23 — one of the vehicles was a motorhome — and southbound lanes closed for about an hour while both injured were taken to a local hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries. WTAQ

- ➤ At EAA AirVenture Oshkosh on July 23, Gabrielle Martin detailed her late father's difficult journey to become one of the first Black US military pilots, noting he survived being shot down over Yugoslavia and hid in enemy territory for six weeks. Her remarks stressed his World War II service and his later work to open doors for Black aviators—an enduring part of his legacy. Oshkosh Northwestern
- ➤ General Douglas MacArthur’s personal Lockheed Constellation—built in 1948 and used in World War II and the Korean War—has been restored and is now on display at EAA AirVenture where visitors can view its original design with modern updates. FOX 11
- ➤ On July 23, the 72nd EAA AirVenture fly-in and convention took place at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh—photos showed both vintage and modern aircraft with visitors using umbrellas in the drizzle.
