- ➤ Nearly perfect weather greeted fairgoers at the Winnebago County Fair in Oshkosh on August 1 — families enjoyed rides and contests during the event. Oshkosh Northwestern
- ➤ Stephanie Diedrich, a Fox Valley volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, is organizing a team to build safe housing in Kenya this October and needs one more volunteer by August 8 — no construction experience is needed because training will be provided on-site. She currently has 6 or 7 members and hopes to address the high demand for affordable housing abroad. WBAY
- ➤ Today, the Oshkosh Children's Parade returns after a 12-year hiatus that ended an 83-year tradition, starting at Wittman Regional Airport at 11 a.m. About 100 children, including Andrew Cruz and his sisters (Adriana and Natalie), will join floats that travel down Ohio Street to South Park where family activities continue until 3 p.m. FOX 11

- ➤ Barlow Planetarium reopened after the UW-Oshkosh Fox Cities campus closed—offering evening shows with a new laser display from Wednesday through Saturday for the next eight weeks. The planetarium still uses 1998 equipment and will soon seek funding to upgrade its system. WBAY
- ➤ Officials announced that the Oshkosh Arena will host its first concert in nearly two years. Broadway’s Rock of Ages Band will perform on October 18—tickets go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on August 19 at the arena’s website and box office. We Are Green Bay
