CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Experimental Aircraft Association added new aircraft exhibits at its museum including a replica of the Santos-Dumont Demoiselle that was delayed by shipping issues — a rebuilt racing plane called Buster and a reproduction of the Messerschmitt Me 262 imported from Virginia. The Me 262 will be on view until mid-August while other early jets will also be displayed with a MiG-21 scheduled to replace it. Oshkosh Northwestern
- ➤ XRoads41, the second music festival at the Oshkosh Festival Grounds, has been underway since August 7 and runs through Saturday. The event features headliners Cody Johnson, Kane Brown & Parker McCollum and may draw nearly 60,000 attendees. WTAQ
- ➤ James Lovell—an Apollo and Gemini astronaut—died on August 8 at age 97, and his long connection with Oshkosh was honored through his many visits to local EAA events and fly-ins. WHBY
