BUSINESS NEWS

  • The city of La Crosse filed a lawsuit accusing Oshkosh Corporation, Pierce Manufacturing, and the Fire Apparatus Manufacturers Association of fixing fire truck prices — the suit claims that emergency vehicle prices doubled over 10 years and delivery times increased from 18 months to four years. Oshkosh Corporation has not yet responded to the allegations.  WHBY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting Sept. 2, the Main Street Bridge in Oshkosh will close for construction so crews can repair key parts while detours guide vehicles along Ninth Avenue, Oregon Street and Jackson Street and pedestrians on nearby sidewalks until April 2026. The work will be completed in two stages—first, the lift spans will work for boats until Oct. 14 and then remain closed to masted boats until April 15 while smaller boats may still pass.  Oshkosh Northwestern
  • Oshkosh saw major administrative changes with a new city manager, school and university leadership shifts, and a narrow $197 million referendum passed amid controversy—while business turnovers, tax measures, and record-breaking AirVenture attendance marked a busy 2025 so far.  Oshkosh Northwestern
  • On August 26, lawmakers helped raise a wall on a Habitat for Humanity home in Menasha to fight Fox Valley’s housing crisis; a study showed 18,000 new homes are needed and local leaders said Madison will offer affordable housing bills next month—pushing public and private groups to work together.  WTAQ

  • Realtors said Wisconsin home sellers must complete a Real Estate Condition Report that includes any flood damage, foundation issues or water problems detected by inspections+ buyers are advised to have extra experts check the home while lawmakers review the form every two years to address new risks.  Oshkosh Northwestern
