- ➤ Habitat for Humanity volunteers with Rock the Block Oshkosh will help Omro homeowners improve their properties by painting fences, removing brush, and cleaning gutters—this project runs for two days and is the group's second initiative in the area. WBAY
- ➤ Rock the Block volunteers from Oshkosh visited Omro on September 9 to help neighbors beautify their homes by clearing sidewalks & sealing driveways. The work eased tasks for residents who found home repairs & yard upkeep too heavy to do alone. FOX 11
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Morgan Geyser’s conditional release plan remains sealed—public backlash led to the removal of her placement in a Sun Prairie group home, and officials will move her from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute when a suitable facility is found. FOX 11
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Historian Paul Spanbauer will share rare train photos and stories of Oshkosh's rail history at the Oshkosh Public Library on Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m. His presentation will show how railroads once powered the city's growth. Oshkosh Northwestern
- ➤ A Celtic Christmas by A Taste of Ireland will debut on Nov. 15th at 7:30 p.m. in Manitowoc with world-class Irish dancers showcasing acts from Riverdance and Lord of the Dance — the tour will visit Oshkosh on Nov. 18th and continue in Green Bay on Nov. 19th. FOX 11

- ➤ An analysis by Zumper shows that Oshkosh apartment rents remain nearly constant with a typical listing at $1,142 compared to last year's median of $1,135—one-bedroom rents at $911 and two-bedroom rents at $1,050 have dropped slightly from recent figures. Oshkosh Northwestern
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Preliminary fall enrollment estimates show UW Green Bay reached 11,500 students with a 3% increase while UW Oshkosh neared 12,500 with a 2.2% rise in new first-year enrollment. The growth—despite the closure of UWO Fox Cities for teaching and learning—points to steady momentum for fall 2025. WTAQ
