HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Green Lake officials reported that blue-green algae has spread across the lake for the first time and it appears like spilled paint—especially when streaks or film signal the presence of toxins. Residents are urged to avoid contact with the water as exposure may cause stomach issues, headaches or rashes—and pets, children and swimmers should change their plans. FOX 11
- ➤ Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative will exit the ACA marketplace in 11 counties including Winnebago next year—forcing about 24,000 residents to choose new health plans during the fall open enrollment period from November 1 to December 15. Oshkosh Northwestern
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Yesterday, over 4,400 runners—even nearly 40% first timers—took part in the Fox Cities Marathon despite warm, humid weather and a chance of rain, marking the race's return after last year's cancellation. Winners in the full and half marathons included John Thill, Relena Ribbons, and John Hollister, who said he will try a 10K next year while many runners credited their success to faith and community support.
