COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Oshkosh has experienced many community changes this summer as workers continued renovations at the former Merrill school on New York Avenue and Central Street and installed new signage at the Public Museum. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wisconsin law prohibits drivers from using a cell phone for texting or emailing at red lights, allowing only hands-free use and banning any phone use for drivers with restricted licenses. - ➤ More than 2,000 commercial properties in Oshkosh got new assessments after a revaluation raised their values by 22% from an earlier undervaluation that used 85% of market price—this update added $350 million to the city's tax base and may lead to adjustments in the upcoming budget's mill rate.
