- ➤ Governor Tony Evers visited ADVOCAP today in Oshkosh to check on how the nonprofit improved first-time homeowner Wendy Cable’s house with insulation, new windows and appliances, which will lower her utility bills by nearly $2,500 a year. In 2024, ADVOCAP made over 460 homes safer and more energy efficient across three counties—paying over $2.1 million to local contractors and vendors. WBAY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Three Wisconsin congressional leaders—Sen. Tammy Baldwin, Rep. Tony Wied and Rep. Glenn Grothman—are refusing their salaries during the government shutdown and have asked that their pay be withheld until the shutdown ends. FOX 11
- ➤ Wisconsin lawmakers have introduced a bipartisan bill to legalize medical cannabis by creating a licensing program for growers, processors, labs and dispensaries — the measure aims to help patients with chronic illnesses and small businesses and follows a failed proposal in February 2024.
