COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Officials announced new dates for EAA AirVenture from 2026 through 2029, with fly-in events scheduled for July 20–26, July 26–August 12, July 24–30, and July 23–29. The event—Oshkosh’s largest aviation convention that began in 1970 and drew 704,000 visitors in 2025—will continue to attract air enthusiasts to the community. FOX 11
- ➤ The Oshkosh Area Humane Society reached capacity caring for 151 cats and kittens — including 44 rescued recently from two households — and is now asking for adopters and foster care providers. The shelter currently has 51 cats ready for adoption and nearly 80 in need of foster care until space opens for new rescues. WBAY
- ➤ Ross, Wisconsin’s first domestic abuse facility dog, celebrated eight years of service at Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services today — he was trained by Journey Together Service Dogs to help calm survivors in moments of crisis. Oshkosh Northwestern

- ➤ Kris Larson resigned from Oshkosh city council to avoid a conflict of interest as the city plans to buy the City Center building that houses his restaurant — the council will accept applications for his replacement from Oct. 13 to Nov. 12 and vote on a new member on Nov. 25. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Sue Gloudemans of Menasha recalled how a stranger’s CPR saved her life during an April errand run and urged others to learn this lifesaving skill. The Fox Cities Heart Walk will be held tomorrow at Fox Cities Stadium—opening at 7:30 a.m. and featuring hands-on CPR training led by nurses and high school students— to raise funds and awareness for heart disease.
