- ➤ Residents in Northeast Wisconsin are invited to share Halloween costume photos and trick-or-treat videos as little ghosts and goblins take to the streets tonight — a chance to capture the festive fun. FOX 11
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ 1000 Island Airboats in Marion won the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin award on Oct. 23 — they made 8 to 10 rescue airboats each year since 2018 and plan to keep improving their design to help first responders. FOX 11
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Grand Oshkosh raised over $8.4M from five major donors through its 'Our Grand Moment' campaign to renovate and expand the historic theater—its largest fundraising effort in 142 years. Local firm T.R. Karrels and Associates designed the expansion to update amenities while preserving its classic style, and the theater still seeks more support. Oshkosh Northwestern

- ➤ A local job recruiter said the Appleton job market stays strong even though Amazon, Target, and Paramount Skydance announced layoffs nationwide. She said office jobs like customer service and data entry are in demand this fall and warned that artificial intelligence may soon change Fox Valley jobs + local firms are watching for shifts. FOX 11
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A meteor was captured on a Neenah police officer's dash cam on Oct. 29 when Officer Brent Wittman left the emergency department at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah at 10:13 p.m.—the video was later posted online. Teri Gee from Barlow Planetarium in Menasha said meteors may appear at any time even though no meteor shower is active. FOX 11

- ➤ UW-Oshkosh dedicated the Mary Beth Nienhaus Softball Complex on October 30 to honor Mary Beth Nienhaus—a retired teacher and golf pro known for her generous community support. The facility is expected to inspire student-athletes and further the legacy of women’s athletics. FOX 11
