- ➤ City leaders held a ribbon cutting on Nov. 4 at 103 Washington Avenue to mark the completion of the William Waters Plaza Gazebo, named to honor the architect who designed the Public Library in 1898. Final plantings are set to finish soon—making the site ready for community use and supported by a $250,000 private donation. WTAQ

- ➤ Oshkosh Corporation received top CES 2026 innovation awards for its robotics & travel tech products, including a JLG Boom Lift with Robotic End Effector and an electric airport rescue vehicle that will accelerate 28% faster than its diesel version. The company was also named a CES Innovation Awards Honoree in the Construction & Industrial Tech category. FOX 11
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ UW-Oshkosh's food service provider Elior will end its contract on May 17, leaving 155 employees permanently laid off. The university said a new dining services provider will be in place next spring to avoid any disruptions for students, faculty, and staff. WTAQ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Wednesday night, the district voted to borrow up to $5 million for immediate operations—adding to the $10 million borrowed in August—with both loans set to be repaid when January tax allocations arrive. Administrators said the extra borrowing resulted from delayed DPI grant funding and higher summer health claims, and they assured taxpayers it is a routine measure. WBAY
- ➤ University of Wisconsin—Oshkosh was named among the nation's best schools for men in nursing by the American Association for Men in Nursing—its ninth honor. Three senior student leaders attended the national conference in Orlando to accept the award. FOX 11
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The city of Oshkosh will cut funding to the Area Humane Society from $107,000 to $60,000, a move that reduces their support by $47,000 while they plan to keep providing the same care. The city will vote on the change on November 11 and both parties are working together—negotiations continue to find a solution. FOX 11
