South Park Middle School's Kimberly Loeper wins Bubbl'r National Teacher of the Year

$10,000prize for South Park Middle School

The donation from BUBBL'R goes to the school, not to Loeper personally.

If a South Park Middle School student asked you for a vote, it paid off. Science teacher Kimberly Loeper won the 2026 Bubbl'r National Teacher of the Year contest, and her school gets $10,000.

“We heard all these stories of kids who called their grandparents or called aunts and uncles in other cities or got people at their mom and dad's work to vote. So it was a real South Park team effort.”

Kimberly Loeper, South Park Middle School science teacher

The whole school gathered for an assembly, complete with a student dance battle. Staff and students call Loeper creative, resourceful and willing to go the extra mile, and she beat several other finalists in a vote.

  • Her classes: sixth- and seventh-grade science
  • Money's possible uses: field trips and educational programs
  • Staff are already talking about how to spend it

If you're still rebuilding after April's flooding or the July 27 tornado, there's a new place to ask for help. Leaders from the three counties announced a coordinated long-term recovery effort Thursday in Menasha, and nearly 50 organizations are working together.

“For many families, the hardest part of recovery is now, and what comes now.”
