- ➤ On Wednesday, community members collected 9,439 pounds of food and $2,540 in cash for Father Carr's Place 2B in Oshkosh during the FOX 11 Food Project as part of the Northeast Wisconsin Gives Thanks food drive—donations surpassed last year's 5,480 pounds and additional drives will continue in Manitowoc on Thursday and Marinette on Friday. - ➤ Karen Iverson Riggers and Lynn McLaughlin opened a free Community Living Room in downtown Appleton where locals can drop in for emotional CPR and support during distress—this model, shared in training sessions in Oshkosh, is now being copied in other counties to ease isolation and prevent crises. - ➤ Ripon College will keep its Army ROTC program after a new partnership with UW-Oshkosh+ students will take military science classes at the UW-Oshkosh campus and join weekly leadership labs while still living and playing sports on campus. WTAQ
- ➤ The Oshkosh Area School District projects a $6 million deficit for the 2026-27 school year and will make cuts — likely including staff — to keep programs strong and budgets balanced. The district will update its process on Dec 5th, discuss cuts at the board meeting on Dec 10th, and notify staff with final recommendations by Jan 14th. FOX 11
