  • The Oshkosh Public Library is teaming up with Caramel Crisp and the Altrusa Club to collect books for local children until Dec. 11. The Salvation Army will distribute the donations with Toys for Tots filling the gap left by the national program.  Oshkosh Northwestern

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Counties and local landscaping businesses stocked up Monday night as they prepared for winter weather. Ryan Richeson of Appleton Lawn Snow & Landscaping stockpiled 250 tons of salt and kept 20 workers on standby + urged drivers to lower their speed and carry extra emergency supplies.  WBAY

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Families in Oshkosh are getting ready for Thanksgiving as food prices have risen by 2.7% since September—many are shopping smart by choosing sales, national brands for key items, and private labels for basics. A Wells Fargo report shows that shoppers who follow these tips may find extra savings and even donate their savings to local food pantries—helping others in the community.  FOX 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Officials from the Oshkosh Area School District project a roughly $6 million deficit for next school year due to state funding not keeping pace with inflation, declining enrollment, and rising costs. District leaders will review options to cover the gap without planning another referendum — current staff contracts remain in place for the rest of this year.  WBAY

SPORTS NEWS

  • Professional basketball stays strong in Oshkosh as the Wisconsin Herd secures a five-year arena partnership with VenuWorks, and the team will play 24 home games at Oshkosh Arena. The venue will also host concerts and events—while the roster features players like Oladipo, Johnny Davis, and Alex Antetokounmpo.  WTAQ
