  • Wisconsin is reviewing 47 new data center proposals as energy demand grows. A Tuesday panel by the Wisconsin Technology Council featured experts who discussed benefits and costs while legislators consider a bill for more transparency in water and energy use — the proposals may change how the state uses power.  WBAY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Oshkosh Area School District released its academic calendar which shows that students have no school today for Thanksgiving break—additionally, students will be off during winter break from Dec. 22 to Jan. 1, MLK Day on Jan. 19, spring break from March 23 to 27 and Memorial Day on May 25.  Oshkosh Northwestern

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • WisDOT paused road projects Wednesday at noon to boost safety amid heavy holiday travel on I-41—work will resume on December 1. The agency noted that the pause is a standard clause in contracts to help avoid crashes during record traffic periods.  FOX 11

SPORTS NEWS

  • Wisconsin’s gun deer season is off to a strong start as more than 90,000 deer were taken during the opening weekend and buck harvests increased by about 1.4% over last year. Hunters in Winnebago County, including Gary Herlache and Travis May, recorded key moments like long-distance shots in heavy fog and expect more deer activity as snow arrives — a factor that could boost their success later in the season.  WBAY
